Evidence of community activity. Talks to the Women’s Institute and other Hertfordshire community organisations on The Radio Children.
Many talks, over 6 years that began encouraging memories of childhood experience listening to education radio:
the community that listened to radio as an educational experience.
Evolving from these live sessions came a story of the value of listening and the unique experience of audio and visual slide experiences 20 years before PowerPoint.
The process of showing the behind-the-scenes experience of making broadcasts came an appreciation of the value of BBC Education methods.
When a British Library curator had no examples of BBC Education broadcasts the project began collecting evidence for a School Radio Archive.
These community talks informed my academic research and emerged in the Springer book chapter: Basiel, A., Howarth, M. S. (2022). The 70:20:10 Webinar Design chapter in Industry Practices, Processes and Techniques Adopted in Education
