Registration Form update 7th March 2010

Having watched and taken part in an Assessment Board and seen first hand the issues involved with filling in the Registration Form I have made a further range of changes to the Form to take into account the problems faced by staff.
There are three versions of the form circulating: an original version, a word based development, an excellent PDF redraft by Charlotte that is being filled in by computer and by hand. Perhaps I can contribute to her work.

The observed issues which have significance for my version of the form are in no particular order.

Most now fixed in in 4th March version and now inserted in Admin Forms for WBS2812 (and 4811)

1) There is no room for first and second supervisor only on in the project row
ACTION: Boxes added in Section for Official Use only.
2) There is not enough room for the project title in the subsequent module choices.
ACTION: Project title space expanded and supervisor removed.
3) Students confuse Negotiated Degree title and Project title
ACTION: Instructions added.
4) Not enough space added for Project title:
ACTION: Text fill rules changed so text shrink.
5) QTS students often fail to make sure titles met school and teaching degree requirements.
ACTION: Added to Instructions popup
6) Full Time Part Time category field.
ACTION: Not added all candidates are Part -time
7) Section titles 1 Opening Term module choices title varies on forms
ACTION: Add to Core modules - Opening Term added PT students up to 45 credits, FT students 60 credits
8) Some Students add all titles of evidence in claim for previous experience in 5 years or even before.in RAL spaces.
ACTION: Information added to Instructions pop up
9) Form is now more flexible
a)can be included with other PDF Forms as required by 2812 and 4811
b) or on its own. has a print only this page function so whole 2812 and 4811 Handbook Forms don;t have to be printed out with the Registration Form
10) Exemption Module section removed as not needed (Always was in my original version).
11) Problem wish shaving totals for student with more marks

Added 22nd June. To make sure trials move ahead with speed, Post Graduate studentsworking in the summer and getting ahead with their September work are being asked to trial the range of forms including the electronic Registration Form now collected together in one PDF file

Notice the potential for pop up layers. See the ADVICE button on page 4 which enable the tutor to add supportive information, where it is needed, not in the appendix or on a following page.

Large file 45Mb so only open not download to computer. This will open very quickly on a CD version of the Handbook. On website or Oasis version a series of single pages will be used so each video loads quickly.
