Dear Candidate
We really enjoyed the last DPRof Day and your feedback has been brilliant. One point was universal – you have asked for further time to discuss research so we are adding further days to the calendar.
Come and join us for the expert seminar on the morning of the 25th November and stay for the Board of Studies (see below) and then join us on the 6th December for a WHOLE day of research. We will email further details of the research day later next month but in the meantime keep the date for your diary and come to the next expert seminar!
Please do advise me by return e-mail should you wish to attend in order for a place to be reserved for you.
Dr Brian SuttonBrian will follow last month’s seminar by Dr Michael Cavanagh who explored emerging thinking on leadership and the power of coaching. Brian will use simple models, drawn from Michael's work on corporate leadership programmes, to illustrate some of his key ideas from a professional practice perspective. He will ask “how do we change mindsets”, and “how can we start to see differently”. Brian will then introduce a simple, but fiendishly clever technique that allows you to start to challenge your own thinking and structure it in a way that leads to new insights. This is a key tool for anyone struggling to shape a DProf research question. |
Brian has variously been an engineer, Naval Officer, IT professional, University professor in Washington DC, and the Director of Learning for the UK’s largest training company. He obtained a DProf from MDX in summer 2006, so can still remember clearly the agonizing confusion of wondering what any particular DPS module really required. He now splits his time between delivering multi-national senior leadership programmes for organizations like Unilever, he is a DProf advisor, a visiting professor at MDX and visiting fellow at Henley Business school. When not working he lives by the coast in Cornwall. |
December 6th 2010 - A whole day of research!
